Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage transactions relating to the financing, sale and purchase of vessels and support management in the negotiation of major contracts, acquisitions etc.
  • Advise and support the Management and Directors on M&A opportunities, investments, and company structure.
  • Manage the financial forecasting, budget, cash control and financial reporting for the company.
  • Organize management efficiently with all financial systems and processes in the company.
  • Advise and support the management team on all financial matters affecting the business.
  • Train and lead a highly professional finance team to manage day to day operations.
  • Implement operational best practices.
  • Report financial results to the board of directors.
  • Understand and mitigate key elements of the company’s risk profile.]
  • Report financial results to the board of directors.
  • Monitor all open legal issues involving the company, and legal issues affecting the industry.
  • Construct and monitor reliable control systems.
  • Maintain appropriate insurance coverage.
  • Ensure that the company complies with all legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure that record keeping meets the requirements of auditors and government agencies.
  • Report risk issues to the audit committee of the board of directors.
  • Maintain relations with external auditors and investigate their findings and recommendations.


Desired Candidate Profile:

  • Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, Business Administration or equivalent.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) / Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA)/ Associate/Fellow of Chartered Accountants (ACA) or equivalent.
  • Experience in senior finance position, ideally having worked in the Middle East in a similar CFO or Senior Finance position within a large shipping or maritime related organization.
  • 10 years managing people and partnering with an executive team.
  • Relevant Shipping experience with knowledge of ship finance.
  • Dynamic and modern approach to managing finances and working as a member of the management team.
